The Breakthru Company has an approach and philosophy to acting like no other. Created by award-winning director Gil Junger (10 Things I Hate About You), The Breakthru Company breaks many of the conventions of traditional acting courses to allow performers to present their true authentic self.
The idea behind the brand began with the audition door, a doorway which presents opportunity, but which actors may also find to be a barrier that they need to overcome. The shape of an opening doorway became the epicentre of the visual identity.
The simple form of the doorway allowed for a versatility within the brand. It can frame a person or object of interest and integrate within the image, it can act as a space in which imagery or content can exist, or it can be a lens to highlight and bring a subject into focus.
A strong and vivid palette floods through all of the identity, providing the personality and fun that acting and performing can bring, while also reflecting Gil’s own bright and glowing passion for what he does.
Bringing together the key assets of colour, type and the doorway device provided a distinct and engaging identity, one that punches through the noise across web and social platforms, while providing the flexibility to adapt to future opportunities as The Breakthru Company grows. These visual elements combined with some smarter and sharper headlines gave the brand a fresh voice that demonstrated a confidence compared to its competitors.
